Job Description
Responsible for driving the train in mainline in normal, degraded, and emergency modes. Also responsible for driving the train in the depot and Engineering vehicles. The job holder has the responsibility of following the train operations procedure and safety procedures to ensure safe and reliable operations of the trains and engineering vehicles and respond efficiently and safely to degraded and emergency situations that affect train operation and ensure passengers’ safety and security.
- Operate passenger trains in the mainline and depot according to train operations procedures
- Operate engineering vehicles when required according to engineering vehicle operations procedures
- Report train incidents promptly and accurately to the Central Control Room Controllers
- Manage incidents according to procedures and work instructions and instructions from the Incident Manager
- Participate in incident investigation and provide incident reports with recommendations for improvement
- Assist Train Crew Supervisors in coaching, and mentoring colleagues
- Participate in the training skills qualification program and support the Training Team in providing training to new Train Crew members
- Provide customer service according to customer service procedures and work instructions
- Enforce safety rules and regulations and carry out necessary actions to ensure the safety of passengers, employees, contractors, and visitors on board train and engineering vehicles
- Take initiatives to recommend to management safe methods of work for driving trains and engineering vehicles and related activities
- Follow the organization’s safety rules and procedures to promote, create and maintain a safe and healthful work environment
- Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor
- Embrace HSQE culture in the workplace
Qualification and Certification
- Minimum Diploma holders and degree holders of engineering are an advantage
- Preferable 2 years of working experience gained from transportation or related industry
- Experience in safety-critical jobs is an advantage
- Recognized professional memberships of transport are an advantage
- A licensed passenger train driver is preferable
- Ability to work in an environment that requires focus and attention to detail and safety
- Ability to work calmly and make decisions under stress
- Good at communicating in English and Thai
