Release the aircraft to service after the satisfactory completion of maintenance
Controlling and follow up on the serviceability of tools, equipment and materials at the stations where RJ has storage facility and liaise with the concerned sections at base to replace, replenish and maintain the inventory.
Report to QA any perceived condition that may jeopardize the flight safety or safety of personnel
Liaise with QA before any planned audit on the station.
Ensure timely access to all airworthiness data, necessary forms and checks (for RJ and other contracted carriers).
Wherever applicable, aware mechanics assigned on a maintenance activity about the hazards associated with the job undertaken and explain the specificities and technicalities of that job.
Determine when an aircraft is ready for the intended flight and when it should not be released to service and inform the operator and/ or the station manager as applicable.
Debrief the operating crew about the maintenance carried out on the aircraft.
Resolve any encountered defect using approved Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (i.e. AMM, TSM, FIM, SBs, IPC… etc.) and provide technical inputs accordingly
Wherever applicable, manage the working team under his/her control (i.e., Mechanics) during the performance of Maintenance activities.
Release the aircraft to service, within its approved limitations, after maintenance and ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out as per the set standard.
Ensure that all safety and health precautions associated with maintenance actions are properly adhered to.
Assess the weather conditions and the available facility for compatibility with the work to be undertaken.
Review the aircraft technical history required to properly resolve any outstanding or recurrent defect.
Record the details of the maintenance carried out and follow with maintenance documentation upon satisfactory accomplishment of maintenance and keep such as part of maintenance records archive (using paper format or the adopted fleet management system (MIS TRAX) wherever applicable.
