The Senior Air Freight Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the air freight operations within our organization. This position plays a critical role in managing the efficient movement of goods by air, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving the growth and profitability of our air freight business. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of air freight logistics, strong leadership skills, and a strategic mindset. Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the company’s air freight strategy, in alignment with overall business objectives. Identify growth opportunities, assess market trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of air freight operations, including cargo handling, warehousing, customs clearance, and transportation. Ensure efficient and timely movement of goods while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team of air freight professionals. Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to ensure the team’s success and development.
- Financial Management: Manage the air freight budget, monitor expenses, and drive cost-saving initiatives. Implement pricing strategies to enhance profitability.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards. Stay updated on changes in regulations and adapt processes accordingly.
- Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and vendors. Identify opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and expand the client base.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor KPIs and performance metrics to track the effectiveness of air freight operations. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to air freight operations. Develop contingency plans to address disruptions or issues.
- Technology Integration: Stay abreast of advancements in logistics technology and implement relevant tools and systems to enhance efficiency and visibility in air freight operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in air freight logistics, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of air cargo regulations, customs procedures, and industry best practices.
