The Software Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s software applications and systems, as well as driving innovation initiatives that support the company’s strategic objectives. This role involves supervising software and innovation staff, managing projects, and working closely with the Director of IT to align technology solutions with business needs.
- Supervise and manage software and innovation staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement software development strategies, policies, and procedures that align with the company’s business objectives and technology requirements.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation and drive initiatives that support the company’s strategic goals.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications and systems, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and security.
- Manage software projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, timeline management, and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration and compatibility between software applications and infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices related to software development, data protection, and privacy.
- Develop and maintain software and innovation documentation, including project plans, requirements documents, and user guides.
- Evaluate and recommend new software technologies, tools, and services to improve the company’s software capabilities and drive innovation.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, participating in relevant training and workshops.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development or management, with a proven track record of successfully managing software teams and projects.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
- Excellent project management skills, with experience in budgeting, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements, including data privacy and security standards.
- Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation.
